RAIN-OUT GUIDELINES

PRACTICE & GAME RAINOUT GUIDELINES

As you all know the weather in Miami is unpredictable. Our goal is to complete our team practices or games. If practice is cancelled, parents will be notified 1.5 HOURS before scheduled practice time through teamsnap and WhatsApp chat group.

COMMON FAQ:

Q: It’s raining in North Miami, how is the weather in Kendall for my game?

A: If notification is not received 1.5 HOURS before your practice or games,  then practice and games are set as scheduled.

Q: What if we arrive at the practice field and there is lightning?

A: If we are in a lightning delay when you arrive, stay in your vehicle until the all clear horn sounds.

Q: It’s been raining all day, is there still practice?

A: Depending on the conditions of the fields, we will notify all parents through teamsnap and WhatsApp chat group 1.5 HOURS before your practice or scheduled games.

Q: It’s clear, why is the practice cancelled?

A: The lightning alarm is on and for safety reasons the park is closed.

PARK RULES & REGULATIONS FOR LIGHTNING WARNING SYSTEM

To ensure the safety of all patrons, the City of Miami Shores provides a lighting warning. The system emits a siren/horn blast to warn patrons when field conditions are safe or may threaten the area.

ONE LONG HORN BLAST: indicates possible lighting in the area. The park is closed and all patrons must exit the fields.

THREE SHORTS HORN BLASTS: signal the “ALL CLEAR” and the park re-opens depending on the field conditions.
